Starting at $399, the new iPhone SE (2020) is Apple’s most powerful “budget” phone to date. Surprisingly, the 4.7" phone comes with Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, the same chip used in Apple’s premium line of iPhone Pro.

With the iPhone SE dropping today, Apple now has attractive price points for every mobile device offering that can easily handle its new range of services — Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and the already established Apple Music.

Apple is likely not a “loss-leader” with the iPhone SE ($399), the base-model iPad ($329), or the recently updated iPod touch ($199). But these price points do show that the Cupertino company is willing to forgo a premium price tag in exchange for new users into its ecosystem.

Other notable features for Apple’s lowest-priced phone include:

  • Portrait Mode
  • Record 4K video
  • Touch ID
  • Water-resistant
  • 18-W fast charge
  • 13 hours of battery life while watching video
